  • Bonbon
  • Linen
  • Cotton

This is a cool and comfortable skirt made with chiffon material that is fully lined. One of the easiest skirts to make takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to cut, even for a beginner at sewing. This skirt was cut on a cross-bias to create a full flare. You’ll learn more about how to cut on a bias in this tutorial. Also, it includes a side zip detail and does not require any wasteband or elastic.

3. A Basic Gathered Skirt

This is a simple, gathered skirt with a loop and belt detail. It did not require much cutting or an elaborate pattern due to the style and method of sewing. It’s an unlined skirt with an elastic band and two side loops. I find this skirt to be ideal for the fall or winter.

4. A Wrap-Around Pleated Skirt

If you’re looking for a more detailed skirt to sew, this is the perfect one for you. It includes a versatile pattern that is suitable for most ages. It boasts an intricate front pleated design with a tie-up buckle. A wrap-around skirt that ties across the waist looks elegant and charming. The fabric used was viscose, which is lightweight and easy to work with. You can also sew this skirt in other fabrics, such as:

  • Chiffon
  • Linen
  • Cotton
  • Airflow
  • Velvet
  • Bonbon
  • Satin
